| ABOVE AVERAGE HURRICANE SEASON PREDICTED FOR 2011 |
| Industry News | |

|
The latest forecast from the Colorado State University is predicting an above-average Atlantic hurricane season in 2010 with an above-average probability of US and Caribbean landfall. The 2011 forecast from Philip Klotzbach and William Gray is predicting nine hurricanes and five major hurricanes in 2011, with a 73% probability of at least one US landfall and a 62% chance of a major hurricane tracking through the Caribbean. The respective averages over the last century is 52% and 42%. "Information obtained through November 2010 indicates that the 2011 Atlantic hurricane season has the potential to be quite active," the forecast said. "We estimate that activity will remain well above average, approximately at levels that were experienced in the average of the years between 1995-2010."
