| BEST UPGRADES OUTLOOK TO STABLE FOR RECOVERING AIG |

AM Best has upgraded its outlook on bailed-out insurer AIG to stable from negative and affirmed its bbb issuer credit rating, citing the group's "issuance of debt and equity in 2010 and 2011, the execution of new credit facilities to provide back-up liquidity and the reduction of risk related to the non-insurance operations". AM Best also revised the outlook to stable from negative and affirmed the A (excellent) financial strength ratings and "a" issuer credit ratings of AIG's Chartis US Insurance division, members of the group's Lexington Insurance Pool and member companies of US life/health division SunAmerica Financial Group. AM Best acknowledged that AIG's income will continue to exhibit some volatility going forward but that the variances will not effect the group's capital position or its operating companies' claims-paying ability.
