| COVEA TO MERGE MMA AND PROVIDENT BRANDS IN THE UK |

France-based insurer Covéa – the parent of mutual insurers MAAF, MMA and GMF – is to merge its MMA Insurance and Provident Insurance brands in the UK under the single name Covéa Insurance. It intends to merge Provident Insurance plc into MMA Insurance plc through a Part VII transfer of the insurance business. As soon as that transfer is completed, MMA Insurance will be renamed Covéa Insurance. Currently MMA is based in Reading, generating revenue of about £221m ($341m) and employing more than 370 staff. Provident is based in Halifax, providing mainly personal motor insurance. It generates revenue of just under £200m and employs more than 400 staff.
