| LIES NAMED AS NEW SWISS RE GROUP CEO |

Michel Liès has been named the new group CEO of Swiss Re. The Swiss Re career veteran will take over from Stefan Lippe from February 1. The importance of the position was somewhat downgraded last year when Swiss Re adopted a new legal entity set-up. This gave Christian Mumenthaler, appointed CEO of Swiss Reinsurance Co Ltd, responsibility for Swiss Re's reinsurance strategy, capital and asset allocation (IIN 24, June 23 2011) leaving Mr Lippe to "continue to focus on running the Group". Holding company Swiss Re Ltd also controls the Corporate Solutions and Admin Re businesses. Mr Liès, a Luxembourg citizen, is currently Chairman of Global Partnerships at Swiss Re, having previously been head of Client Markets. Meanwhile, Swiss Re has also announced the appointment of Moses Ojeisekhoba as CEO Reinsurance Asia, effective March 15, reporting to Mr Mumenthaler. Mr Ojeisekhoba, who joins from Chubb where he had been Head of Asia-Pacific since 2009, will represent Swiss Re Group in Asia on the Group Executive Committee. Swiss Re's Martyn Parker, the current CEO Reinsurance Asia, is to return to Europe to an as yet unspecified post.
