Japanese insurer Tokio Marine Holdings is to sell life assurance policies in India through a local call centre, reports Nikkei. Mumbai-based Edelweiss Tokio Life will operate the centre with Japan-based sales agent Financial Agency Inc. The new centre could be set up early this year, employing about 20 local staff to market various savings-type policies to India's affluent sector. The company aims to expand the workforce to about 100 by the end of the year. Tokio Marine is aiming for 100,000 policy sales and revenue of some ¥3bn ($38m) in the first five years.
