Allied World Assurance Company Engages Scyllogis To Provide 'Agile Development'
Scyllogis News

Scyllogis Consulting  are delighted to announce a new contract with Allied World Assurance Company (AWAC). “This is great news” said Colin Whickman. “The assignments we have been given are wholly consistent with our ethos of providing practical assistance that delivers tangible results”, added Whickman.

Scyllogis will be working with AWAC as a development partner in a number of areas. The major piece of work will involve taking over the maintenance and ongoing enhancement of the AWAC Custom User Interface ‘CUI’, an application built using the .NET GWS (GENIUS Web Services) framework from Xchanging, that forms a front-office system integrated with the mid- office GENIUS application.

The CUI is a key application for AWAC and needs to continue developing with the entrepreneurial direction of the business, which is constantly looking to exploit new market opportunities. Consequently, AWAC were looking to engage a development partner who, in addition to providing an insurance specialists development team, could also adopt an ‘agile development’ approach that will supply smaller, but more frequent, releases as opposed to the more traditional ‘waterfall’ methodology.

AWAC are also aggressively expanding their US Programme business and as such have also asked Scyllogis to automate the processing of data received from the Programme Manager in order to develop a scaleable process that uses IT to support and enhance the continual growth of this business.

“AWAC is an exciting and challenging client for Scyllogis”, said Whickman. “The dynamic nature of the organization constantly places new demands on the IT systems, which make this an assignment where we can really demonstrate our abilities, flexibility and responsiveness”.
